Space Mountain at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom – A Journey into Space

Have you ever ridden a roller coaster that takes you into space? If you haven’t, you should definitely check out Space Mountain. It is located at Magic Kingdom theme park at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. The ride is a high-speed, turning, and dropping roller coaster!

The ride is designed to look like you are in space! The building is designed to accommodate 2 separate roller coaster tracks!

The ride’s queue line has black lights and space games to participate in while waiting! I recommend you make a FastPass+ selection for this attraction to avoid waiting 60-90 minutes to ride.

Once the queue line ends and you are in the station, there are 6 rows per car that each hold 1 person. There are 3 cars which have 2 rows of 1 person each. There is a cargo pouch to put small carry-on items. You can put your large carry-ons by your feet.

Once you are in the car, you then go to the gravity bar check, where you need to pull the yellow strap on your lap bar to let the cast member know that it is locked properly.

After you are done with the gravity bar check, it is time for your rocket to launch!

During the ride, you first turn to the right and then go up the first lift hill which is in a tunnel with flashing blue lights. After that, you go turn and go up the last and main lift hill, which then drops and turns and twists you through space by the stars. The path of the track depends on the side of the ride you are directed to go to. Each ride then ends with a red tunnel that looks like it is spinning and then you go through space a little more and then stop to exit the ride!

Space Mountain is an amazing indoor roller coaster that you should consider going to Magic Kingdom theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL to visit!
