The final day for Kings Island’s Coasterstock was a blast!
I decided to skip the first tour of the morning, the Steam Train tour and instead come to the park at 8 a.m. for the Flight of Fear tour!
I then rode the Racer and ERT was already over because the tour lasted longer than planned!
I rode Mystic Timbers in the back row. I then rode the Race for Your Life Charlie Brown water ride twice! I enjoyed it but it was a little rough due to bumping the sides of the slide. If it was designed a little better that problem would be solved.
I then rode the Flying Ace Aerial Chase and the Woodstock Express for the credit!
After was the Beast tour and I enjoyed taking great photos and videos of the ride behind-the-scenes.
Then we went back to the hotel and worked on some photos! I came back around 5 p.m. for the dinner! Dinner included chicken and pork sandwiches, green beans, potatoes, salad, cookies, ice cream sandwiches, and Coca-Cola fountain drinks! What a great dinner with good food but like the Day 1 Trip Report, I will share my thoughts when I review the event. Adam House from GCI (manufacturer of Mystic Timbers) was speaking about his experience being a roller coaster designer! He also hinted maybe Cedar Point would get a GCI in the future (huge hint for speculating). The trivia was fun to watch and it was funny that someone wasn’t even there that got called! The questions were about Kings Island facts so that made it trivia! Most questions I knew and 1 question I was 1 number off. The last question was 79/89 of PTA (Philadelphia Toboggan Company) carousels.
Then it started pouring and thunder came. The forecast did remove the rain chance for 7 and 8 p.m.!
After I rode the Blue Racer finally and after being closed Friday and most of Saturday I’m glad I got a chance to ride it. I prefer blue over red for color preferences. Also in my opinion it is smoother to than the red one!
I rode the Banshee 2 times and only waited 10 minutes (each ride) for my favorite B&M Invert which was good considering the busy Saturday crowds.
Then I rode the Adventure Express and it is a great ride and even better at night! I rode the Backlot Stunt Coaster 2 times and then realized my lanyard required for the ERT was missing. The string was there but the lanyard card wasn’t. Well I was in luck and someone found it on the seat and returned it to the ride operator. I retrieved it and rode it again!
ERT was an outstanding success! I rode Mystic Timbers once and then went to the Diomandback to ride it three times! Then I rode the Woodstock Express and then, The Great Pumpkin Coaster for the credit of corse! I ended up going back to Mystic Timbers and rode it around 10 times! I also had a mishap with my stuff on that ride. My small Foresters pouch where I keep my extra camera batteries and season pass snapped off (the top where the two ends snap together) and it ended up on the floor of the row. I retrieved it after I got off immediately and I couldn’t see it but then found it.
Finally the awards for the Photo Contest, Scavenger Hunt, and Social Media Rockstar Contest were announced! Congratulations to all of the winners’!
Overall Coasterstock was an amazing event! The rain turned out amazing considering the precipitation and storm probability forecasted! It was great to see many of you and I hope to see more of you in the near future!
