Cedar Point didn’t have such a smooth day today when a car hit a power poll that caused the power line to explode, power was lost in a portion the park at around 1:30 p.m.
Not only is this a huge inconvenience for the park as it causes all the rides to be inoperable and profit will be lost during the period of time, but guests will have a huge impact too.
People were stranded on roller coasters for hours. People on the 310-foot roller coaster, Millennium Force, were stuck on the ride for 3 hours.
Not something that is good for the park, however in my opinion I don’t understand how someone could hit the power line with their car. It is at least 3 feet away from the causeway road where it happened.
Power was restored for the park by 3:30 p.m. and guests who didn’t get the full-day experience due to the outage will get another opportunity to visit the park before Labor Day. Guests were asked to stop at Guest Services or contact Cedar Point here.
People were then soon evacuated off the ride. Power was restored and rides were reopened shortly after.
