A Thrill Seekers Roadmap to the Perfect Day at Cedar Point – Summer 2018 Edition

People who are going to Cedar Point for a day without Fast Lane, staying at a hotel, or having a season pass have a hard time getting to all of the coasters.

First off, I would like to mention that if you aren’t staying at a resort hotel you will have an extremely hard time getting to ride rides. Lines will take 4x the wait from Early Entry (a time where resort guests and season passholders get to get into the park 1 hour before it opens and ride select rides).

It will make your visit more smoothly and I will be making a roadmap for people who will be staying at a resort or have a season pass because you don’t know what to expect, nor can predict if you do not.

Get to the park at 8:30 a.m. and arrive at the resort entrance by Magnum XL-200. The reason for the 30 minute extra delay is because you must get through security and the further up you are in line for when the gates open, the better off you’ll be.

Train yourself before you go to do some running to get to Steel Vengeance. If you don’t you’re going to wait really long.

Head to Steel Vengeance and then ride Maverick. You should be done with these two by 9:30 a.m. approximately if you have followed my previous steps.

Ride Millennium Force and then ride Valravn. By 9:50 a.m. you should be done with these two approximately. Since Top Thrill Dragster isn’t an Early Entry ride due to the work it requires to open it, head there and get in line so you get in by 10:20 a.m. After that the line will increase.

You may say I will ride it later in the night if you’re too scared but I’m just going to let you know YOU WILL NOT GET ON IT IF YOU WAIT. Top Thrill Dragster has lots of downtime and you need to ride it while there is a short line and it’s open. Just relax, breathe, hold on tight, and in 17 seconds it will be over.

Then I recommend going to get something to eat if you are hungry after all of those rides. Head to Perkins Restaurant & Bakery at Hotel Breakers. You can get in and get a meal for $10 per person. To get there, find the large swing ride WindSeeker, exit through the gate and get a handstamp (it just makes it quicker coming into the park) and head down the boardwalk past the pool until you see the TGI Fridays sign. Go through the doors and enter the building. Walk past TGI and take a left. Then follow the signs until you past the arcade and take a left, then a right, and you will be in the main lobby.

After I recommend riding rides with short waits like WindSeeker, Wicked Twister, GateKeeper, and the rides in that area. Since that area is close to the entrance that leads to Perkins, you would be able to stop and have a good time.

Then I recommend moving into the area of the park where Blue Streak is and riding the Raptor and Blue Streak.

Naturally moving into the area where Corkscrew, Power Tower, Matterhorn, Magnum XL-200, and Gemini are located! Ride those and they shouldn’t be a too long wait.

I recommend then moving into the back of the park by Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Skyhawk, Snake River Falls, and Thunder Canyon!

Moving forward you may want to dry off and have a snack at Chic-fil-A!

Once you have your snack move along to the Millennium Force and that section on the Frontier Trail! Stop in some of the shops and take a ride on Millennium – you’ll be glad you did!

Stop at Rougarou and ride that and then you will have covered most of the park!

Have some dinner at the Melt and you will enjoy it!

Stop and go on the beach and enjoy Cedar Point Nights – there is live music and tons of games that you’ll enjoy!

I hope this guide helped you and from my 100+ visits to Cedar Point, this is the best way to experience the park!
