It was a sunny day and the sky was crystal blue. I actually had finished all of my homework for the weekend (spoiler alert – that’s a surprise)! Normally when I go to the park on Sundays, I do not arrive until the late afternoon because of homework.
I left around 11:30 a.m. and arrived at the property around 12:30 p.m. which was way earlier than I was expecting. I had lunch at Dairy Queen by Cedar Point (owned & operated by Cedar Fair). I wish they had the $6 Buck Lunch Chicken Wraps but they didn’t. I got the 1/3 Quarter Pounder. I got HIC Flashin’ Punch, Fries, and a Hot Fudge Sunday. It all comes as a meal for $6 + tax from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the locations that participate.
Then I headed to the park and got to the actual park at 1 p.m. I was surprised that it was pretty crowded, which normally on Sundays it is not. The lines said 15 minutes on the app – and everyone knows what that means. You can never trust the app! It does not update, the park is working on new ways to improve that for 2019…. we’ll see how that goes.
I got Fast Lane Plus for the 2019 Renewal and I am so glad I decided to use it because the lines were still long even with FLP! Anyways, I was going to ride GateKeeper and we waited for 15 minutes. They tested three trains and said it was broke down. Yay! We wasted time when I could have gone to Hexed Spellbound, the kiddie haunted house with no screamsters next door. Well, it was 1:59 p.m. and it closes at 2 p.m., but it was still 1 minute until it closed and they already had the “This ride is currently closed sign”. First of all, it is not a ride. Second, you should not close the line until 2 p.m.
I headed to Steel Vengeance and waited 45 minutes, which was pretty good compared to the 2-hour line for guests in the regular line. I had a really good ride on it as normally during the afternoon, it is not running as good as it is at night.
I rode Maverick which was a 30-minute wait (2-hour regular wait) which was crazy! I have never seen Maverick that long on a Sunday during HalloWeekends. It was an amazing ride, however! Super intense and awesome!
After that, I decided to head to Slaughter House after seeing Deprivation and Fearground Freakshow being way too long. Slaughter House was a short 5-minute wait and that was what I was looking for. It was amazing! I got a lot of jump scares and the theming is great!
I waited in line for Millennium Force which was a 20-minute wait, not too bad. I rode 3rd row and got a really great ride on it! I was surprised since it has been closed a lot this season after the cable lift system broke and I haven’t gotten amazing rides on it this year.
Then I decided to go to Midnight Syndicate: Conspiracy of Shadows since I wanted to see it all season and missed it when at the park at the end of September. Along the way (I had almost 1 hour left until it started) I saw a Skeleton Crew performer practicing and decided to watch it for a few minutes.
Then I went to the Jack Aldrich Theatre area and had way too much time on my hands. Explored and saw how long the Zombie High School line was. It was only 5 minutes so why not, filmed a clip in front of the school bus and went in! I had a really great experience. Didn’t get scared as much as I had before, but it was awesome!
Got out with 10 minutes to spare so I got in line. Surprising that there wasn’t a line at all 5 minutes ago and now there is a huge line. Didn’t really matter since I picked a good seat in the front where you could see the whole stage well.
The show was good. I liked last year’s show better (Midnight Syndicate Live) because of the experience with the park. It was more interesting and got everyone to startle more and be excited about what would happen next. I loved the concept – but it just was not as good, or scary. Some people said it was 5x scarier than last year’s. Yeah, no. It was hardly scary at all compared to last year’s performance, which I absolutely loved.
I went into the Zombie High School again and I got really scared! More than ever before! I had such a great experience in the house it comes close to Eerie Estate. In October of 2016, I got extremely scared in Eerie Estate. It was amazing!
I was going to ride Top Thrill Dragster to end off the night, but it broke down. I saw it launching when I was walking there and then it broke down. At least I didn’t waste time getting in line, then it would have broken down and time would have been wasted.
I got a Double Chocolately Chip Frappuchinno and a Chocolate Cake Pop! Amazing, they were delicious, of course, of course.
My day at the park was really awesome! I had a great time and it was totally worth it using Fast Lane Plus, which I had until the end of the season – 2 more weekends to use.
