Cedar Fair has many WinterFest events for the 2018 season at some of their popular amusement parks.
WinterFest events are open in the winter from select dates in November and December! Select rides are open, lots of lights, and other activities and shows are at the park to enjoy!
This year the parks to host an event are: Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Carowinds, Canada’s Wonderland, California’s Great America, Knott’s Berry Farm (Knott’s Merry Farm), Gilroy Gardens (Holiday@Night), and finally, Worlds of Fun.
There are many reasons to visit WinterFest in 2018.
The most obvious reason is availability. WinterFest is open on Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays. There are many parks that host the event, which will give a wide range to choose from! Each park has a unique event that delivers a great experience to guests.
If you have a 2018 or 2019 season pass to Cedar Fair Parks, admission is free to any of the parks listed above. But if it is just a regular pass to; for example, Worlds of Fun, that is the only park with free admission.
Admission is $25.99 online and around $40 at the front gate. The admission price is really worth it for what there is to do! Buy tickets online and save money!
Select rides are open during WinterFest! For example, at Carowinds, Afterburn and Ricochet; roller coasters at the park are open. At Kings Island, Mystic Timbers and Flight of Fear are open. At Worlds of Fun, Prowler and Cyclone Sams are open. Many rides to choose from; these are far from the entire list at the park!
A new feature this year added to all WinterFest events is Jack Frost’s Igloo Village, new for 2018. Here is a description of the event: Come chill-out in one of Jack Frost’s luxury Igloos! Furnished with comfort and warmth, this is the perfect spot to take a break and soak-in the beauty of WinterFest! Each reservation allows groups of 4 (additional guests can be purchased – up to 8 in total) to take advantage of concierge services such as: igloo food & beverage delivery, event host to plan-out your night, souvenir mugs for hot chocolate, reserved show seating, a cookie decorating session in Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen, and a complimentary ice skating or carriage ride session. The fun doesn’t stop there, Mr. Frost has arranged for special surprises throughout the night! Additional fee required.
This experience is one of the extra-charge experiences that can be participated in by guests.
Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen Cookie Decorating is another extra-charge experience at all of the parks. People get a lesson on the correct, easy, and efficient way to decorate cookies fast so they turn out looking like a bakery made them!
People who decorate them get an entire box full of cookies to take home with them!
There is an extra fee required for this experience.
Other free experiences include North Pole Post Office where guests can send a letter to Santa Claus.
Snow Flake Lake Ice Skating is the most popular extra charge attraction, and requires a waiver to be filled out as well. Ice skates are included as well as an hour of fun to skate!
Other attractions include many shows at each of the parks like Tinker’s Toy Factors. Each of the parks have a Tree Lighting Ceremony each night with a performance!
Many shopping opportunities are available in the park with homemade Christmas gifts and ornaments! There are Christmas Candy stores at each of the park with lots of fudge, candy, and exclusive creations for the winter season.
Guests can purchase a Hot Chocolate Mug and get free refills for the night purchased and $1 refills for the rest of the season. The cup expires at the end of the year purchased.
There are lots of great options for food and shopping at any WinterFest event!
Lots of events have unique photo opportunities with iconic Christmas figures. Some events even have a sledding hill (it is structured into rows) for free participation among guests!
And, of course, lots of decorations and lights throughout the park! With all of the lights and Winter Wonderland areas everywhere, as well as tons of activities and attractions, WinterFest events have lots to experience.
WinterFest events open in just a few weeks to enjoy by guests! Santa and his elves are hard at work getting the event ready!
