Kennywood will be officially opening for the 2019 season on Saturday, May 4th.
Today, I will be sharing the highlights of what is coming for this year to the park!
The park has an exciting year ahead of them soon!
If you have not heard already, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kennywood have partnered to collaborate.
Steelers Country is a themed land celebrating the players and turning the attention and interaction to visitors at the park.
Merchandise, skill games, and food locations are the minor pieces of the new area.
Steel Curtain, an S&S Sansei roller coaster, will be the center and major attraction of the area.
End Zone Cafe, an indoor restaurant, will also be in the new area.
Tailgate Patio is an outdoor restaurant with picnics that allude to the stadium site in the new themed-land.
The Steelers Experience is an interactive building/training facility with exhibits and games.
There will also be traditional midway games in the area as well.
In addition, Thomas Town will be open all Summer. It features four new family rides, a new gift shop, a new play area, and a new party pavilion. A new show stage was also added.
This year is Kennywood’s 121st season and they are celebrating the entire year!
On April 27th and 28th, season passholders are able to visit the park early.
On May 26th and 27th, the Ribs & Blues Festival will be taking place.
There will be entertainment and vendors for various delicious barbecue eats!
Youth Association Days are several days during the Summer and include a special admission rate.
Kidsfest occurs on June 27th and 28th. Superheroes, princesses, friends, and special activities highlight the event.

Kennywood will have an amazing season filled with celebration as the park continues to become better and expand.
Once Steelers Country opens and Steel Curtain is operating which will most likely be near the end of May or early June (this has not been confirmed; the park doesn’t know, but it is a rough estimate).
