The Barnstormer at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom – A Junior Classic

The Barnstormer is a Junior Vekoma roller coaster located at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

It is located in the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland.

The area where the roller coaster sits was occupied by Grandma Duck’s Petting Farm.

The barn housing the petting zoo after it closed was used for The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm.

The Barnstormer opened in Mickey’s Toontown Fair.

The coaster has an interesting storyline. It is an airplane school taught by Goofy. The vehicles were homemade by Goofy.

The ride closed in the beginning of February 2011 to be rethemed to The Great Goofini. This happened during the time when Fantasyland was expanding.

Mickey’s Toontown Fair closed permanently. The coaster was rethemed to the Great Goofini.

The original barn part of the ride experience was removed as part of the new theme.

There are two trains with eight cars. Each train can accommodate 16 passengers.

The coaster has a height of 30 feet and a length of 679 feet. It reaches a top speed of 25 miles per hour.

The ride’s entirety lasts just one-minute. There are no inversions because it is a junior roller coaster designed for children and families.

The height restriction is 35 inches so most children ages 3-5 will be able to ride.

The ride is very popular for children and is a great addition to the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland.
