Fury 325 at Carowinds Review – December 2017

Fury 325 is by far my absolute favorite roller coaster in the world, but how good is it out of 100?! Continue reading to find out!

A photo of the ride’s sign and in the background is the 325-foot tall lift hill with a train about half way up ascending it!

Height: 10/10

The height of the ride is intimidating, forceful and is just the perfect height for the ride!

Drop: 10/10

The drop is AMAZING! It is so intense and provides so much intensity! This is by far my favorite part of the ride!

Speed: 10/10

The speed is perfect! It really forcefully pushes you through the elements!

Airtime: 10/10

Amazing ejector airtime can be found on this coaster!

Length: 10/10

The length is amazing and going under the entrance tunnel is my favorite element of the ride!

Duration: 10/10

This ride has a duration of 3 minutes and 25 seconds! Perfect! Not for short or too long!

Capacity: 10/10

Amazing capacity! This ride can accommodate a lot of guests per hour!

Operations: 10/10

Trains were getting dispatched in 30 seconds or less during my visit in June of 2016! That is AMAZING and keeps the line moving quickly!

Trains: 10/10

I really like the trains lap bar and the seats are very comfortable! The restraints don’t crush your thighs so you actually can get some good ejector airtime!

Smoothness: 10/10

This ride is so smooth! Not once did I get any rattling or shaking of the trains!

Total: 100/100 = A = Amazing

This ride is AMAZING! I 100% recommend riding it everyone will recommend it! I know a lot of people who have this as their favorite coaster too! Everything is perfect about it! Nothing disappoints nor is it overrated! It also was voted the best coaster by the Golden Ticket Awards for 2 years in a row!

Should I Buy a Regular/Gold, or Platinum Pass at my Cedar Fair Park? – Debate

I recently got a question from a reader who said they’re not sure which pass to buy at their home park, California’s Great America! This applies to all Cedar Fair parks, which there are many across the United States of America!

First off, know the following:

  • Prices range differently at different parks depending on the park’s size.
  • There are deals that parks offer until the end of winter.
  • IMPORTANT! Do NOT wait until the week before your park opens to buy your pass or buy your pass at the park. This will save you around $40-60!
  • Each park offers different benefits with their pass. Check your park’s website for the benefits and comparisons.

I am comparing just the benefits all/most parks offer.

For your park’s comparison of the passes, go to the official website for your home Cedar Fair park, click on Tickets and then click on Season Pass Benefits.

Also note: The Pre-K pass is FREE for children ages 3-5 and includes admission to the park and water park (if the park has one). It does not include parking.

Prices

Platinum Pass: $198

Season Pass: $137.25

Pre-K Pass: FREE!*

*The pass must be registered by May 29th, 2018 at the children’s home park. It also must be activated at your child’s home park by June 29th, 2018.

Benefits are different at each park, but I recommend the Regular/Gold Pass for most parks that offer most benefits for that pass. Unless you want to visit more than one Cedar Fair park or your home park is as greedy as Cedar Point with hardly any benefits for the regular pass, then I recommend the Platinum Pass!

I hope this is helpful to everyone!

Leviathan & Behemeth at Canada’s Wonderland – Aren’t They The Same?

A lot of times people are at Canada’s Wonderland and they look at Leviathan and Behemoth and say: Aren’t they the same? I’ll just ride Behemoth because the wait is shorter and the color scheme is cooler! – GP

Well, actually there is a HUGE difference between the two and if you learn all the facts about them, you will know what to expect! The reason us coaster enthusiasts know which one to ride first is that we know what it will be like compared to the other! I will be dueling ride information with two rides into this!

Leviathan at Canada’s Wonderland is one of the two biggest roller coasters as well as Hyper coasters at Canada’s Wonderland in Ontario, Canada! In this blog post, you will learn tons of information about this ride!

Leviathan_Lift_and_Sculpture
This photo shows the lift hill of the Leviathan coaster as well as the station and entrance sign!

This coaster is compared to the Behemoth, another coaster like this at Canada’s Wonderland! The difference is it is newer by 4 years, and much taller & faster!

Here are the stats of the ride:

Opened: 2012

Height: 306 feet

Drop: 306 feet

Length: 5,486 feet

Speed: 92 miles per hour

Duration: 3 minutes and 28 seconds

G-Force: 4.5

Drop Angle: 80 degrees

Now onto Behemoth! Behemoth opened 4 years earlier then Leviathan and shares similar characteristics and elements, but TOTALLY different stats.

co-behemoth061.jpg
Behemoth in action going over one of the airtime hills on the coaster!

Now, let’s take a look at the stats.

Opened: 2008

Height: 230 feet

Drop: 230 feet

Length: 5,318 feet

Speed: 77 miles per hour

Duration: 3 minutes and 10 seconds

G-Force: 4.5

Drop Angle: 75 degrees

Now here is the stats side by side! Next to both of them is a comparison of the difference between the older coaster (Behemoth) and the newer coaster (Leviathan)!

Leviathan             Difference            Behemoth

Opened: 2008                               4 years                           Opened: 2012

Height: 306 feet                           76 feet                            Height: 230 feet

Drop: 306 feet                              76 feet                            Drop: 230 feet

Length: 5,486 feet                      168 feet                           Length: 5,318 feet

Speed: 92 miles per hour         15 miles per hour        Speed: 77 miles per hour

Duration: 3 minutes and 28 seconds    18 seconds     Duration: 3 minutes and 10 seconds

G-Force: 4.5                              0 G-Force                          G-Force: 4.5

Drop Angle: 80 degrees                5 degrees                  Drop Angle: 75 degrees

So, now the GP knows: There is a MAJOR difference in these two roller coasters! Since Leviathan is newer and better according to stats, more people will choose it over Behemoth not just because they like blue!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and if you have any thoughts leave a comment down below! Have a great day!

Is Fury 325 Better Than Millennium Force?! – Debate

Is Fury 325 better than Millennium Force?! This is a very juicy debate as most people have different opinions about the subject! In my opinion, Fury 325 is more intense and provides more unique elements! Millennium Force is okay, I think it is overrated and it doesn’t have that good of elements, and it is also rough. Fury 325 opened later, so that gives Millennium Force credit for opening 14 years before it. But overall, it still is beaten by Fury 325. Also, if you think Millennium Force is better than Fury 325, read more.

According to the 2016 and 2017 Golden Ticket Awards voted by amusement/theme park experts, Fury 325 takes the majority of the percent! That means that people think it is better than Millennium Force!

You must have experienced both coasters before you will choose which is better.

However, with things in place like awards and more, Fury 325 wins the debate!

Fury 325 is located at Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Coaster Terms for Height Barriers

There are certain terms when a coaster reaches a certain height barrier!

When any coaster reaches 200-feet, it is considered a Hyper coaster! The first coaster to break this height barrier is the Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point!

When any coaster reaches 300-feet, it is considered a Giga coaster! The first coaster to break this is Millennium Force at Cedar Point!

When any coaster reaches 400-feet, it is considered a Strata coaster! Top Thrill Dragster was the first Strata coaster built which is located at Cedar Point!

When any coaster reaches 500-feet, it is considered a Polar coaster as this is the only type of 500-foot roller coaster being built at this height! One is being built and is scheduled to open in 2019 which will be the tallest roller coaster ever at 570 feet tall! I expect a name to come up soon but as of now, there is no name other than a Polar coaster as it is the only type of 500-foot coaster!
